A warm welcome awaits you at Homewood’s, your home in the highlands for as long as you choose to stay, the cottage is constructed of rough sawn timber taken from the trees on the Glenmoriston Estate the former owners of this old Ghillies cottage, which has now been renovated to a high standard holiday home with stunning views overlooking Loch Ness.

![]() Your holiday home will cater for all tastes i.e.:- walkers, cyclists, (with use of two mountain bikes) motorcyclists, (with some of the best roads in Scotland), horse riding, golf, and those with an interest in local wildlife or Scottish history. Fishing by boat with a guide on Loch Ness or a personal tour of a Whisky Distillery can also be arranged for you. Homewood cottage is centrally located for exploring the Highlands and Islands, the small village of Invermoriston with craft and gift shop, post office, Hotel and Tavern are within ¾ mile. To the north you have the town of Inverness 27 miles, with Drumnadrochit and Urquhart castle 12 miles. To the south is the small old town of Fort Augustus only 7 miles, Fort William with the highest mountain in Britain (Ben Nevis) and the Isle of Skye are also within easy reach. At the end of a long day exploring the beauty of the Scottish Highlands with its Lochs, Mountains and Glens why not sit back and relax in comfort, read a book, watch a DVD or just take a wee dram in front of the log burning stove. In the warm summer evenings simple take in the beautiful views across the Loch and watch the sunset.

Facilities The Lounge and Dining area have been completely refurnished; it has a wood burning stove, Sky TV, The Kitchen has been refitted with a new electric cooker, hob and grille, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. Separate outside laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. One attractively furnished double bedroom and one twin bedroom both with electric heating and electric blankets for your comfort. A good size shower room with heated towel rail and shaver point. Use of two mountain bikes. Five acres of woodland with views over Loch Ness, garden furniture and BBQ. Two pets are welcome at no extra cost, but owners should be aware that the woodland grounds are unfenced. Off road parking for two cars. Cot is available on request. Electricity, bed linen, towels and heating fuel are inc in the price. Telephone (Honesty box). Directions to Homewood From the south: On A82, drive through Fort Augustus, then 8 miles to Invermoriston. At Invermoriston, there is a right angle bend. Three quarters of a mile beyond this bend, you will see, on the left, a high stone wall with a sign for “Homewood”. The entrance is a very sharp turn – it would, perhaps, be better to pull in to the side of the road and reverse into the driveway. From the north: From Inverness, take the A82, passing Urquhart Castle on your left. Continue for 10 miles until you see a sign for “Pole Cottages” on your right. A B&B follows, then the sign for “Homewood” on a high stone wall. |
