Mainland Malts

There are 277 mountains in Scotland that rise above 3000 feet compared to England which has only 8.
Because of the geography of Scotland 80% of the country is classified as moor, rough pasture, or otherwise uncultivable land. The Grampian and the northern Highlands are formed by distinct geological sheets which slide in along lines of weakness like the Great Glen Fault, colliding and fusing together.
Because of all the mountains, rivers and lochs in Scotland you can see why Scottish malt whisky is the very best in the world, from Highlands to Islands only the best water is used for Distilling.

World Famous Speyside

Speyside is Probably the best place for you to start your Journey tasting Malt Whisky, there are more Distilleries in Speyside than in any other area here in Scotland, some say it is the water, some say it is the Weather, I say it is probably a mixture of all the elements that make Speyside Whisky so smooth, aromatic and full of flavours.

If you come to Scotland you must visit the Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin, the tour around the Distillery is one of the best I have taken, your tour guide is Tracey Davidson who makes the tour very informative and fun, after the tour you are invited to take a dram or two in the visitors centre, if you prefer not to partake in a dram then you may enjoy Tea or Coffee in the cafe.
